Speak my Language 2

There is a Chinese restaurant that we frequent. The owners have a little girl just a year younger than Brandon. They like to talk and play when we eat there. Well, Brandon decided he would like to say hello to Sarah in Chinese. He asked her mom how to say hello in Chinese and he practiced it so he could do it just right.

So once he finished eating, he walked over to Sarah, grinned and said "Ne how." He was so proud of himself for being able to speak her language. Sarah's mouth dropped open and her arms flew from her sides. She started screaming, "NO!! YOU NO SPEAK CHINESE,!!!! YOU SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!!" It totally freaked her out to hear Brandon speak in Chinese.

He was devastated and did not know how to react so he just sheepishly walked back to his seat. I hugged him and told him not to worry, she just didn't expect him to speak that way. Since that day he has never spoken any Chinese to Sarah, but if he thinks you are Chinese, he proudly says "Ne how!"
